Phoenix Ray Scoggins of Pauls Valley was born January 6, 2014, in Norman, Oklahoma to Nicholas Scoggins and the late Dakota Scoggins (Stephenson). He passed away August 29, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 9 years old. Phoenix was in the fourth grade at Stratford Schools and loved his school, classmates and teachers as family. Phoenix was as unique as his name and birthmark. He loved sitting in the deer stand hunting “Yum-inies” (his word for deer because they are yummy yummy) with his Pepaw and daddy, fishing in the pond, swimming in his pool and playing baseball with his “brothers” the Oklahoma Legends. Phoenix did donated his heart valves and corneas through Lifeshare after his death which saved the lives and sight of 6 children. It is because of Phoenix’s giving spirit that he will always be known as Pepaw’s (Shane Hunter) little hero.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dakota Stephenson Scoggins; great grandparents, Fritz, and Sharon Calhoun; great grandma, Alice Scoggins; Great great grandparents, Walter, and Jackie Cooper.
