Phillip Ross Searcy

Phillip Ross Searcy was born May 24, 1945, to Allen and Erma “Lois” Searcy (Pierce) in Duncan, Oklahoma, and passed away July 31, 2023, in Maysville, Oklahoma, at the age 78 years. Phillip was a lifelong resident of Garvin County. After graduating high school, he attended Murray State College. In 1966, Phillip entered the Army and was sent to Vietnam. It was 1968 when Phillip returned from overseas.

Phillip had a love for simple things. He found great enjoyment in checking The Shopper for items that he felt his daughters might need or checking the Super C ads for meat sales. He liked to watch the weather and rodeos on television. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was bird hunting, checking the cows, feeding the catfish, or hauling hay. Phillip loved his family, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include daughters, Sheila Collins of Elmore City, Oklahoma, and Becky Scott and Jon of Binger, Oklahoma; brothers, Crillon Searcy of Antioch, Oklahoma, and Royce Searcy of Cordell, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Shane Collins of Norman, Oklahoma, Heath Collins and fiancé, Shannon Maldonado, of Antioch, Oklahoma, Bailee Collins of Elmore City, Trey Scott of Binger, Kylie Burchfield and Cole of Minot, North Dakota and Madie Longenbaugh and Logan of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; and two great-grandchildren on the way.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Lois Searcy. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the Love Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Gamble officiating. Burial followed at the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at: www.winansfuneralhome.com.
