Phillip David Jennings

Phillip David Jennings, of Pauls Valley, passed away on December 20, 2024. Phil was born on December 25, 1946, to Fred and Ruby Jennings in Norman, Oklahoma. After Phil graduated from Norman High School in 1963, he attended the University of Oklahoma where he played football and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Phil pursued a successful career in the oil field industry and maintained a long successful contract with the Bureau of Land Management taking care of burros and wild mustangs. He truly loved his rodeo and team roping family. Reno Rodeo and World Series in Vegas were his yearly favorites, where he was successfully Reserve Champion. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, riding ATV’s, playing pool, attending concerts, listening to his favorite tunes, driving his jet boat or corvette, and of course causing a little bit of mischief. At all times he made everyone around him feel special and welcome, and he was always up for a good joke or bet. He especially loved spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren. Their special memories of him include Easter Egg hunting in the hay maze he made every year, skunk and toad hunting, blaring his favorite music on the way to the Pig Shop, riding in the horse walker swings that he converted for them, staying nights at the Artesian, and fishing in the catfish pond that he stocked just for them.

Phil was preceded in death by his mother and father, Fred and Ruby Jennings of Norman, and his sister, Loanna Martin of Norman.

Phil is survived by his wife, Tammy Jennings, of Pauls Valley; daughter, Shay and husband Robby Moore of Norman; son, Taylor and wife Julianne Jennings of Goldsby, Oklahoma; daughter, Kesha and husband Chris Vaughn of Edmond, Oklahoma; and grandchildren, Macy, Molly, and Mack Moore, Brooklynn, Kinley, Alexa, and Xander Jennings, and Maddox and Rowyn Vaughn.
