Mona (Hayes) Endler of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Jake and Gladys Hayes on August 9, 1939, in Elmore City, Oklahoma, and passed from this life on May 20, 2024, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years. Mona grew up and attended school at Parks, Lindsay, and graduated from Elmore City High School in 1957. She met and married Ron Endler in Oklahoma City. They were married on June 17, 1961 and would have been married 63 years. Ron and Mona made their home in Lawton – Chicago, Illinois – Hanover Park, Illinois and finally settled in Elmore City 50 years ago. Mona worked as a bookkeeper, secretary at Elmore City Elementary, and worked in the Garvin County Treasurer’s Office before her retirement. She enjoyed traveling to visit family and spending every October for many years in Port Aransas, Texas. Mona is survived by her husband, Ron of the home; and two daughters, Ann Marie Harrel of Elmore City and Laura Harrington and husband, Bob of Piedmont, Oklahoma; one brother, Joe (Junior) Hayes and wife, Ronna of Norman, Oklahoma; two sisters, Gale Hayes of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and Alene McCaskill of Elmore City; three grandchildren, Julie (Harrel) Garner and husband, Matt of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Jonathan Harrel and wife, Kelsey of Purcell, Oklahoma, Clayton Harrington of Piedmont, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren, Parker, Jackie, and Samantha Garner, Hayes Harrel, and Rennie Lynn Harrel, coming in June 2024; also a host of nieces and nephews.
Mona is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Gladys Hayes; her in-laws, Sam and Rose Endler; two brothers, Curtis and Dale Hayes; sister-in-law, Phylis Hayes; and brother-in-law, Sam McCaskill.
Memorial Services are scheduled for Friday, June 7, 2024, at Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma with Mr. Joe Terrell officiating. Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
