Melissa Dawn Carnell-Newell, of Pauls Valley, passed away August 10, 2025, in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 46 years.
Melissa Dawn Carnell was born May 26, 1979, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Jimmy Don Carnell and Gail Dehart-Carnell. Through the years since she was a little girl, she has lived in various places. Her dad served in the military and moved as needed during his career, so they lived in North Carolina, Texas and other places. For the past nine years she has made Pauls Valley her home. Melissa has worked at Walmart for a number of years and was a member of the Victory Lighthouse Church in Pauls Valley.
Melissa is survived by her parents, Jimmy and Gail Dehart-Carnell; her children, Tyler Brock Milligan, Riley Tate Newell and Charles Dalton Glen Newell; seven brothers, Chad Carnell, William Bear Carnell, Garrett Johnson, Anthony Stanley, Christopher Gatto, Russell Boyd and Gregory Pendilton; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Carnell, Hunter Carnell, Bear Carnell II, Jackson Carnell, Dakota Whitmore and Johnathan Moore.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 15, 2025, at Victory Lighthouse Church officiated by Pastor Jewell Beckwith. Interment is at Whitebead Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. We invite you to send words of comfort to the family at stufflebeanfuneralhome.com.
