Martha Elizabeth Jordan

Martha Elizabeth Jordan, 85, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home September 2, 2025, just one day before her 86th birthday. Born September 3, 1939, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Martha was the daughter of Everett “Possum” Fain and Dorine (Lankford) Fain. She carried with her the warmth and strength of her roots throughout her life. On July 30, 1970, she married Wayne Jordan in Aztec, New Mexico—a union that brought love, family and lasting memories. Martha’s life was rich with the love of her family. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Tonette Culver and her husband, Les Culver; her loving sister Mary Cupp; her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Glenda Slate and Brandon McBride, Curtis Culver and Amanda Culver, Ashley Jordan, Jordan and Isaac Olguin, Kaylynn and Mason Webb, Rebecca Slate, Shealy Culver and Reagan Culver, Adrianna Grearing, Justin Slate, RJ Gearing; and her great-great-grandchildren: Kaydence Colson, Kaleb Olguin, Oakley Webb, Lilah Olguin and Dakota O’Donnell.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Jordan; her daughters, Leslie Ann “Charlie” Gearing and Dorina “Rena” Renee Mossier; her sister Dora Karnes; her parents, Dorine and Everett Fain; and her grandson Jacob Wayne Gearing.

Martha was an extraordinary woman whose love knew no bounds. She embraced her family with unwavering devotion and lived her life with joy, humor and heart. As she often said, “You can’t have any fun unless you’re a little crazy”— a quote that perfectly captured her spirited approach to life. Her wisdom, laughter and unconditional love will echo in the lives of those she leaves behind.

Her family will remember her as a strong, loving and inspiring presence—a woman who lived fully and loved deeply.
