Kenneth Chris “Shakey” Martin, of Maysville, Oklahoma, was born July 26, 1963, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Kenneth W. Martin and Sandra (Adams) Martin. He passed away November 21, 2021, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 58 years.
Chris grew up in Maysville and graduated from Maysville High School in 1982. During his working years, Chris worked as a roustabout in the oil field. He also worked for Rural Water in Wayne, Oklahoma. Chris was also known as a jack of all trades. Whatever work he participated in he did it well and to the best of his abilities.
Chris was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and his beloved Oklahoma Sooners. If a game was on, he was watching it. He also enjoyed going to the lake and fishing with his family and friends. Chris enjoyed music and loved rock concerts. Music was a big part of his life and his interests included everything from classic rock, the blues and southern gospel. Chris enjoyed life and all the people that shared it with him.
Chris loved his family and getting together whenever they could. He loved to laugh. Chris was a great friend to many, many people. He loved his friends and if there was ever a need that one of them had he would do his best to fill it whether it be fixing a car or being a friendly ear to listen. Chris was always a welcome site to this community and will be greatly missed, especially by his faithful dog Tiffy.
Survivors include his mother, Sandra Martin of Maysville; second mom, Jacque Martin-Graham and husband, Bill, of Maysville; brothers, Chuck Martin and wife, Marsha, of Maysville, Keith Martin and wife, Teresa, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kevin Martin and wife, Dana, of Antioch, Oklahoma and Carl Martin and Amber of Maysville; sister, Connie Martin of Maysville; nieces, Tess Lukens, Tasha Henderson and other nieces; nephews, Nathan Martin, Taylor Martin, Tanner Martin, Corbin Martin, Gavin Martin and other nephews; and Chris’ extended family, Bodie and Shiley Tarrant.
Funeral Services were held November 27, 2021, at the First Assembly God Church in Maysville, Oklahoma, with Bro. Johnny Tyler and Bro. Mark Hodges officiating. Burial followed in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www. winansfuneralhome.com.
