The family of Juliann Stroud (Wright) invites you to join us in a celebration of life to share our most cherished memories of our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The celebration (open house) will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Recreation Center, 1005 N. Willow St. Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Food and drinks will be provided.
Juliann Stroud, age 72, of Chillicothe, Illinois, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, at UnityPoint Health Proctor Hospital, in Peoria, surrounded by her family.
Julie was born May 2, 1950, in Riverside, California, to Unafaye Wright. She married Billy Dean Stroud on February 12, 1966, in Elmore City, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2016. Also preceding her in death are her mother; and siblings Jamie Lynn and Kim Lynn.
Surviving are her children, Chris (Joe) Stroud of Aurora, Illinois, Billy (Duane) Stroud-Boutte of Carmel, New York and Deanna (Aaron) Boyer of Glasford, Illinois; four grandchildren, Lindsey Stroud, Sydney Stroud, Jake (Emma) Clark and Taylor Clark; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Darrell Lynn of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Diana Conley of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gary (Cindy) Lynn of Stratford, Oklahoma, Connie (Tim) Richardson, Lori Lynn, and Kerry (Terri) Lynn, all of Pauls Valley, Amber Pierce of Sulphur, Oklahoma and Amy Pierce of Pauls Valley; and many nieces and nephews.
Julie was a bus driver for over twenty years, first for Illinois Valley Central and then for Peoria Heights. She also worked different jobs for Ready Care Daycare in Peoria Heights and for St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon. In addition, she also worked at the family’s various businesses; Olde Time Billiards, Stroud Fur Company, Stroud Trailer Sales, and Stroud Bait Shop. Julie was a member of the Chillicothe Assembly of God Church and the Women’s Auxiliary for both the American Legion and VFW.
Julie’s greatest joy in life came from being a Nana. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loving and ever present in their lives. Julie also loved to play pool, watch NASCAR and sew. She also enjoyed gardening/ yard work, the Cubs, the Oklahoma Sooners, and her dogs.
