John Eldon Hubbard

John Eldon Hubbard, 75, of Pauls Valley passed away July 17, 2025, in Lakewood, Colorado. He was born February 8, 1950, in Cushing, Oklahoma. In 1971, John married Marilyn Jacobson in Oklahoma City, and they shared 54 wonderful years together. After moving to Pauls Valley his junior year of high school, he became friends with Marilyn’s older brother and sister, not knowing they had a younger sister who would steal his heart a couple of years later at Oklahoma State University. When Jennifer was born, she quickly became the apple of her daddy’s eye, and he loved her dearly. He was so very proud that she followed in his footsteps and also graduated from OU. They enjoyed traveling near and far, even as far as Sweden to learn about the Jacobson family heritage. John loved fishing with his brother Mike, trips to the lake with his grandsons, and many, many road trips with family members and friends. The picture included was taken on his last trip to Colorado where he loved to be in the mountains fishing and exploring. John had also become quite an accomplished carpenter having built a large treehouse and bridge on Jacobson Pond for Brendan and Ben, a picnic table and deck on his family’s farm north of Stroud, and many other projects too numerous to mention. He just loved to stay busy.

John graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1968, attended Oklahoma State University for three years and later graduated from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Oklahoma in 1977. He worked as a pharmacist at Safeway, which later became Homeland, in Pauls Valley until retirement in 2017. In 2001 his degree title was changed, awarding him a Doctor of Pharmacy.

John is survived by his wife, Marilyn, their daughter Jennifer Clark and her husband, Jay, of Edmond, and two grandsons, Brendan Clark of Norman and Ben Clark of Edmond, who he adored. John is also survived by one brother, Mike Hubbard and his wife, Peggy, of Stillwater; a sister, Marilyn Moffitt and her husband, Mike, of Edmond; two brothers-in-law, David Jacobson and his wife, Nita, of Paoli and Bert Jacobson of Pauls Valley; many nephews, nieces and other relatives from both the Hubbard and Jacobson families and numerous close friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, E.W. Hubbard, and his mother, Murieldeen (Vinson) Hubbard. He is also preceded in death by his in-laws, Gayle and Betty Jacobson of Pauls Valley, who loved him as one of their own.

A Time to Remember will be held at a later date for family and friends. We invite you to send words of comfort to the family stufflebeanfuneralhome.com.
