Jimmy Baird was born on March 2, l937 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma and went to be with his Lord on July 18, 2023 in Garland, Texas. He was the 5th son of Cecil and Opal Baird of Stratford, Oklahoma. His brothers were Bob, Bill, Don, Edgar and Sonny who preceded him in death. Jimmy graduated from Wynnewood, Oklahoma High School and completed his business degree in Wichita Falls, Texas. His first job was in the office of the Kerr McGee refinery in Wynnewood. Jimmy married his sweetheart, Mary Swinney, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the First Presbyterian Church in l957. They had two sons, James Cecil and Joe Sidney.Jimmy soon learned that a desk job was not his forte, and found sales was where his talents lay, first in men’s clothing and then in oil and gas pipe lining. Jimmy and Mary welcomed two daughters-in-law into the family, Merilee and Shelley. They were also blessed with five grandchildren, Jennifer, Meagan, Marshall, Derek and his wife Kayla and Craig and his wife Bethany, and then with 3 great-grandchildren, Jase, Ellie, and Emerson. Jimmy had many nieces and nephews and often enjoyed family reunions with his brothers.
His family has planned a memorial service on Saturday, July 29th at 11:00 AM at the Community Bible Chapel, 4l8 E. Main Street, Richardson, Tx. 75081 and a graveside service on Sunday, July 30th at 12:30 PM, at the Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1906 S. Chickasaw, Pauls Valley, Ok. 73075.
