Elizabeth Ann Garrison, of Pauls Valley, passed away December 17, 2022, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, at the age of 87 years. Elizabeth Ann Garland was born August 4, 1935, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to John and Sarah Louisa (Jackson) Garland. Elizabeth was affectionately known as 'Pooh.' Following her graduation, she worked many years as secretary at the Pauls Valley High School. She and Edward L. 'Eddie' Garrison were married in Ada in March of 1974. Among her many 'mom' activities she attended whatever her children and grandchildren were active in. Some included P.T.A. meetings, football games, band activities and wrestling matches, where she was Coach Floyd Johnson's unofficial wrestling secretary. In her church activities, she was very active in the First United Methodist Church of Pauls Valley as a volunteer for over six decades in the U.M.W. and was an original member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class. 'Pooh' was very attentive to her church and to the activities of her children and grandchildren, as well as being a great cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Louisa Garland; her husband, Edward L. 'Eddie' Garrison; and a grandson in law, Billy Brewer.
Her surviving family include her four children, Ramona Seals and her husband, Tommy; Susan Seals Skipper, all of Pauls Valley; Eddie Ray Garrison and his wife, Julie, of Norman; and Shelly Bennetts and her husband, Craig, of Bull Head City, Arizona; grandchildren, Leiya Brewer and Elizabeth Schmedeke, both of Pauls Valley; Royce Garrison of Norman; and Nicholas Skipper of Seattle, Washington; great grandchildren, Thomas Calhoun, Madison Brewer, and Tristan and Landen Schmedeke; one brother, John W. Garland and his wife, Kathy, of Anadarko; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Ray Garrison, John 'Hoot' Garland, Thomas Calhoun, Nicholas Skipper, Bo Schmedeke and Royce Garrison.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Pauls Valley. Interment was at Mt.
