Charles Herman Dickinson, 87, passed away at his home in Whispering Pines Lane, Longtown, Oklahoma, Friday, September 16, 2022. He was born February 16, 1935, in Wayne, Oklahoma, to Herman C. And Opal Odell (Davis) Dickinson.
Charles loved playing golf when he was younger. He was a lifelong Meat Cutter where he worked for Safeway for 38 years. He worked for the Oklahoma Forestry Department for several years, as well as at Marcum Tree and Flower Nursery that he enjoyed very much. He loved gardening as well.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ilah “ Danni” Dickinson, of the home; four children, Marla and Jim Beavers of Waynesboro, Tennessee, Michelle (Dickinson) Clark of McAlester, Oklahoma, Dawn (Dickinson) Clark of McAlester and Michael Dickinson of Oklahoma City; one son-in-law, Mitch Kauk of Leedey, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Ross, Brad, Amy, Amanda, Ciara, Logan, Madison, Landon, and Savanah; nine great-grandchildren, Sophia, Grayson, Maddie, Eli, Karis, Chloe, Connor, Ainsley, and Krew; one sister, Sue Sahmaunt and husband, Ace, of Elgin, Oklahoma; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Opal Dickinson; one daughter, Sharla Kauk; and one brother, Jimmy Dickinson and wife, Sue.
A memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Eufaula Church of Christ with Mr. Charlie Bailey officiating. Speaker will be Chaplain Kerry Kirkheart.
