Bobby James Bean

Bobby James Bean, age 74 of Newcastle, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Born November 27, 1950 in Purcell, Oklahoma, he was the older of two children born to Sidney James Bean and Jimaleen (Lambert) Bean. He was raised near Maysville and attended school there, graduating with the Warrior Class of 1969. He then attended Okmulgee Tech, and he studied to be a diesel mechanic. During high school he met Belinda Arlene Andrews, and they were later married on May 7, 1971, in Washington, Oklahoma, and began their life together. Just a few short weeks later, Bobby answered the call in service to his country and joined the United States Army. Bobby and Belinda raised two children, son David and daughter Sarah.

Bobby was a hard worker and a great provider, and his work really was his hobby. He started as a mechanic at American Farm Lines, worked for Tri-State Trism and the last 23 years at Waggoners Trucking.

Away from work, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and supporting his granddaughters in all their activities. His heart was always on the farm, and he loved tending to the day-to-day operations, checking cows, running fence and cutting hay. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Jimaleen Bean, and his sister, Nancy Chapman.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Belinda Bean; his son David Bean and wife Tracy of Newcastle; his daughter Sarah Carlton and husband Bryan of Newcastle; his pride and joy, grandchildren Sydney Rice and husband Tyler, Kaitlyn Bean and Bailey Carlton, and great-grandson, Brixton; and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2025, at Maysville Cemetery.
