Billy Murl Phillips, of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, was born August 9, 1929, north of Elmore City, Oklahoma, to Jack and Mary Annie (Tarrant) Phillips. He passed from this life on Saturday, October 22, 2022, in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 93 years. Billy was a 1945 graduate of Pernell High School at the age of 16. He was one of eleven siblings. He was a hard worker and had an outstanding work ethic. Billy retired from the Wynnewood Kerr McGee Refinery, the State of Oklahoma, and the City of Pauls Valley. He will be missed by his family. His survivors include his brothers, Doyle Ray Phillips of California and Larry Phillips of Norman; nieces, Phyllis Stinnett of Maysville, Oklahoma and Lesana Carter of Paoli, Oklahoma; nephews, Jackie Phillips of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Danny Phillips of Oklahoma City, Todd Phillips of Moore, Oklahoma, Michael Phillips of Maysville, Tim Hazlitt of Wynnewood, and Maxie Phillips of Davis, Oklahoma.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dorothy Lynn, Lois Phillips, Jay Phillips, Kenneth Phillips, Gerald Phillips, Norma Gordon, Thell Phillips, and Shirley Ann Phillips.
Graveside services were held October 27, 2022, at the Elmore City Cemetery with burial under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com.
