A Pauls Valley woman was struck and killed by a train between Pauls Valley and Paoli Sunday afternoon.
The woman, identified as 39-year-old Stormy K. Ledbetter of Pauls Valley, was laying on the BNSF railway just south of East County Road 1550 when she was struck by the southbound train just before 2 p.m., according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
BNSF train conductors stopped the train and called 911. OHP Troopers, assisted by the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office and Pauls Valley Fire Department, responded to the scene and conducted the investigation. No further details have been released.
A memorial service for Ledbetter will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 224 N. Pecan St., Pauls Valley.
