Powerlifting boys competed at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Bethel at Firelake Casino in Shawnee.
Pauls Valley competed in the Large School Class.
James Fields won the heavyweight division, lifting a total of 1,560 lbs., the highest total of the meet across all classes and divisions. His 625 squat and 600 deadlift were the highest of the day. His 335 bench was the second-highest in his division.
In the 145 weight division, Jarett Norman placed fourth. He lifted 350 lbs. during the squat, which was the secondhighest in the division. His 200 bench placed third, and his 350 deadlift placed fifth.
Also in 145, Brecken Wicks lifted a total of 770 to place seventh, and Kolton Morrison lifted 755 to place eighth.
Lane Lewis placed eighth in the 168 division, lifting 885 lbs.
In the 181 weight division, Marshall Edwards placed fifth, where his 260 bench was the third-highest of the division.
In the Small School Class, Tyler Collins of Paoli placed fifth in the 181 weight division. His 420 deadlift was the fourth-highest of the division.
Ninth-graders competed in a class of their own, with several from Pauls Valley placing.
Matheo Lira won the 132 weight division, lifting 760 lbs. in total. His squat and bench topped the division, and his deadlift placed third in the division.
Corbyn Jones placed second in the 181 weight division. His 335 squat was the highest of his division, while his 350 deadlift was the second-highest, and his 195 bench was third-highest.
In the 145 weight division, Zane Wright placed third. He had the best deadlift at 340 lbs., and placed third in squat and fifth in bench. Preston Burke placed fourth, and placed fourth in each of the individual events. John Ford had the third-highest bench at 155 lbs.
Avery Wicks placed fifth in the 275 weight division and had the fifth-highest bench at 155 lbs.
