Panthers honor former coach

Former Pauls Valley High School Coach Tim Reynolds was honored Tuesday during the halftime of the girls basketball game against Chickasha.

As the Panther head football coach from 1983-1987, Reynolds has the best winning percentage of any PV football coach with longer than a three-year tenure. In five seasons, Reynolds led the Panthers to a record of 51-20, winning 72% of games played. He also has the second most total wins of any head football coach in PV history.

Reynolds' teams had four playoff appearances (1983, 1984, 1985 and 1987) and seven playoff wins, more than any other Panther head coach. He coached the Panthers to the 1987 football semifinals and the quarterfinals in 1984 and 1985.

Before becoming head coach, Reynolds served as the assistant football coach in 1982. He also coached basketball and baseball while in Pauls Valley.

Reynolds went on to coach at Lawton Eisenhower, Chickasha, Noble and Oklahoma State University. In 2016, he was inducted into the Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

A plaque honoring Reynolds will be displayed in the trophy case at the PVHS gym.
