Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Celebration, Jan. 17
Hopewell Church, Inc. will host the Garvin County 13th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Holiday Celebration at the Wynnewood High School Cafeteria Saturday, Jan. 17, at noon. The 2026 holiday celebration is a free luncheon in honor of community service with Wynnewood Mayor Keith Huitt as the guest speaker. Everyone is welcome to attend. TOPS Club meetings offer weight-loss education and support
Pauls Valley TOPS Club Inc. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets Mondays at 4 p.m. at the First Church of God, 414 N. Chickasaw St.
TOPS offers an individual approach to weight loss and overall wellness. Members learn about nutrition, portion control, meal planning and exercise at the weekly meetings. Consistent group support, health education and recognition are all key components to successful weight management.

Regional Transition Fair to support students with disabilities, Jan. 26
There will be a regional transition fair for students with disabilities Jan. 26 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Mid-America Technology Center in Wayne, Okla. The resource fair will bring together more than 30 vendors dedicated to supporting students with disabilities as they prepare for life after high school.
The free community event will connect students, families and educators with a wide range of resources and services designed to promote independence and guide young adults into the workplace. Vendors will include agencies and organizations specializing in employment training, vocational rehabilitation, postsecondary education options, financial planning, transportation, assisted living, health services and other supports that help individuals build meaningful, self-sufficient futures.
Transition services play a vital role in helping students with disabilities gain the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to succeed beyond the classroom. The fair provides families an important opportunity to ask questions, explore options and learn about programs available throughout the region—all in one accessible location.

Elmore City EMS Open House, Jan. 29
Elmore City EMS is celebrating the completion of their new EMS station at 301 W. Lindsey. There will be an open house Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. for the public to come see the new facility.
Methodist Church to hold Groundhog Breakfast, Jan. 31
The 57th annual Groundhog Breakfast will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Pauls Valley First United Methodist Church, 401 N. Willow. The all-you-can-eat feast will be open from 7 a.m. to noon. Pauls Valley Depot Museum welcoming visitors
The Pauls Valley Depot Museum has a variety of exhibits and items on display related to railroad history and the early days of Pauls Valley and Garvin County. The museum is open to the public Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
Lindsay Band Program hosting Souper Bowl II fundraising soup cook-off
The Lindsay Public Schools Band Program is hosting its second annual Souper Bowl, a fundraising soup cook-off and tasting event. Souper Bowl II is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at the Lindsay Public Schools Cafeteria. The cost to attend the event and try unlimited samples of soup is $10. The cost for unlimited samples plus one big bowl of your favorite soup is $15.
Each attendee receives a complimentary drink, dessert and bread or crackers, plus a ticket to vote on their favorite soup. The winner of the fan favorite soup will receive a trophy and a $100 cash prize. All proceeds from the event benefit the Lindsay Bands.
Fifth Friday Art Walk set for Jan. 30
The Pauls Valley Arts Council will hold its first Fifth Friday Art Walk of 2026 on Jan. 30 from 5:55-9 p.m. in downtown Pauls Valley. The event will include carriage rides, a silent auction, and plenty of art, music, vendors and door prizes. This month’s featured artist at the PVAC building, 220 W. Paul Ave., will be Chickasaw artist J. Eric Smith, of Pauls Valley. Smith will have beaded work on display.
