Pauls Valley firefighters conducted a prescribed burn on the east side of Wacker Park and the football stadium Tuesday to help the school district clear out excess brush. The controlled fire also burned old railroad ties left near the adjacent railroad tracks, creating thick black smoke that drew the attention of quite a few residents in the area.
