PV library to host Merry Mondays in December
Monday afternoons in December the Nora Sparks Warren Library, 201 N. Willow St. in Pauls Valley, will be showing family friendly movies with popcorn and hot chocolate. Movies will start at 3:45 p.m. For more information contact the library at 405-238-5188.
TOPS Club meetings offer weight-loss education and support
Pauls Valley TOPS Club Inc. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets Mondays at 4 p.m. at the First Church of God, 414 N. Chickasaw St.
TOPS offers an individual approach to weight loss and overall wellness. Members learn about nutrition, portion control, meal planning and exercise at the weekly meetings. Consistent group support, health education and recognition are all key components to successful weight management.

Pauls Valley Depot Museum resumes regular hours
The Pauls Valley Depot Museum has reopened to the public following a short closure while railroad contractors removed the sidewalk behind the depot. The museum’s regular hours are Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m to 4 p.m.
Garvin County OHCE December Leader Lesson: All About Laundry Soap, Dec. 18
Join the Garvin County Oklahoma Home and Community Education (OHCE) group for December's Leader Lesson: All About Laundry Soap, taught by McClain County FCS Educator Connie Wollenberg.
The lesson will be Thursday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Nora Sparks Warren Library, 201 N. Willow St., in Pauls Valley. It is free and open to the public.

PVAC Christmas Fundraiser and Edible Gingerbread House Contest, Dec. 13
You are invited to join the Grinch and Santa’s Elves for a fun time making ornaments, snowflakes and other crafts at the Pauls Valley Arts Council’s Christmas Fundraiser, Saturday, Dec. 13 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the PVAC Building, 220 W. Paul Ave. There will be bake sale goodies and opportunities to shop from a variety of vendors and artists.
PVAC will also be hosting an Edible Gingerbread House Contest with cash prizes. The entry fee is $10 and can be paid the day of the event. Winners in the youth division (12 and under) will receive $50 and winners in the adult division (13 and up) will win $100.
Contestants need to bring their finished edible gingerbread houses to the PVAC building by 3 p.m. Dec. 13.
Public judging will begin at 4 p.m.
Library Story Time, Thursdays at 10 a.m.
Children of all ages are invited to come have fun reading, singing and crafting during Story Time at the Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow St., in Pauls Valley. Story Time is at 10 a.m. each Thursday.
Applications available for Christmas in Maysville food baskets
Application forms for Christmas in Maysville food baskets for Maysville residents in need are now available. Applications can be picked up at Jack’s Pharmacy, 500 Williams St., or the Maysville Public Library, 506 Williams St. The deadline for applications is Dec. 14.
Food baskets will be available for pickup Friday, Dec. 19, from 10 a.m to noon at Abundant Love Fellowship, 1005 12th St., in Maysville. Deliveries will be made the same day. Call 405-238-9793 for more information.
Nora Sparks Warren Library to host first Artifact Identification Day, Dec. 13
Area residents are invited to bring their fossils, artifacts, rocks and minerals to the Nora Sparks Warren Library, 201 N. Willow St. in Pauls Valley, Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The library will have Oklahoma Geological Survey geologists and local avocational archeologists on-hand to help identify items and provide insight into the history connected to them and hands on education. The family friendly event is free, open to the public and no registration is required.
Christmas in the Valley, Dec. 18
The final Thursday night Christmas in the Valley celebration will be Dec. 18 from 6-8 p.m. in the Santa Fe Depot Plaza area in downtown Pauls Valley. The celebration will have activities for the whole family, including snowball fights, holiday crafts, a DJ Dance Party, professional photos with Santa, s’mores, hot chocolate, face painting, fire dance, caricature art and inflatables. All activities are free. There will also be $5 meal baskets for sale to support a local fundraiser.
Pauls Valley Chili Supper and Christmas Parade, Dec. 13
The Pauls Valley Fire Department’s 25th Annual Chili Supper and the city of Pauls Valley’s Christmas Parade will be Saturday, Dec. 13.
The Fire Department’s 25th annual Chili Supper, hosted by the PV Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, will be from 4-6 p.m. at the fire station, 201 S. Walnut St.
Pauls Valley’s annual Christmas parade will follow, starting at 7 p.m. in downtown PV. This year’s parade theme is “The Grinch of Who Valley.”
This year, Pauls Valley Tourism is also sponsoring a Jingle Jackpot Prize Drawing. Those holding tickets earned by shopping participating local businesses and restaurants between Nov. 1 and Dec. 12 will be entered to win cash prizes, gift certificates and gift cards. That prize drawing will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Pauls Valley Fire Dept.
Carols, Candlelight, Cookies and Cocoa with the GC Choral Society, Dec. 14
The Garvin County Choral Society will present Carols, Candlelight, Cookies and Cocoa Dec. 14 at 7 p.m., at the Pauls Valley First Presbyterian Church, 320 N. Walnut St. Selections will include Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols,” and Pinkham’s “Christmas Cantata,” performed by the Choral Society accompanied by Chelsea Bushong on harp and The Boulevard Brass. Admission is free.
