Nonprofit honors Oklahoma public school foundations

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence is accepting nominations for its Outstanding Program Awards for School Foundations.

Presented by OFE and its Oklahoma School Foundations Network, the awards recognize innovative programs sponsored or administered by public school foundations in Oklahoma.

“Oklahoma public school foundations do invaluable work to enhance funding and galvanize support for their school communities,” said Elizabeth Inbody, executive director of the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence. “These awards not only celebrate their hard work but also highlight the creative ways that these nonprofits enrich our public schools.”

Nominations for recognition may come from anyone knowledgeable about the foundation, including its board members. Honorees are selected based on the program’s impact on their school and community.

Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m. Dec. 31. The nomination form and detailed award criteria are available at OFE.org.

OFE will honor the Outstanding Program Award winners at the 40th annual Academic Awards Celebration on May 2 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Each winning foundation will receive $2,000.

OFE, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, is a statewide, nonpartisan nonprofit that recognizes and encourages academic excellence in Oklahoma’s public schools. The foundation elevates public education through esteemed honors, grants to K-12 mentoring programs, support for public school foundations and partnerships that provide exceptional professional development to educators.
