Walters drops Stratford 20-6

Stratford fell 20-6 to Walters on Oct. 23.

'We moved the ball well tonight, just had too many mistakes with turnovers or penalties to keep some drives alive,' Coach Michael Blackburn said.

The Bulldogs gained 337 yards, more than the Blue Devils' 302 yards. None of those yards came from passing, unlike last week, when they led their opponent in passing.

With 22 seconds left in the half, Joseph Smith ran in a 67-yard touchdown.

Overall, Smith rushed for 304 yards.

Grady Carter had 10 tackles, and Gavin Green had 9 tackles. Dax Ross and Braxton Bear had 8 tackles each. Bear also had 1 interception.

'The offensive line blocked well,' Blackburn said. 'The guys played with great effort and fought hard until the end, but we just came up short.'

Stratford will travel to Wynnewood Friday night.
