Lindsay softball season ends at State semifinals

Lindsay reached the semifinals of the 3A State Tournament last Friday before losing to eventual champion Washington, 11-1.

"We had a lot of nerves, and it didn't turn out how we wanted it to, but we played hard," Nacobi Miller said.

The Leopardettes last reached the semifinals in 2022, where they also lost to eventual champion Washington.

"I'm glad we got to come out here," Addi Dodson said. "I'm just glad God let us play out here today and enjoy this opportunity."

Senior Reise Flood will play next at Arizona State University.

"It's not the end for me, but it is bittersweet leaving Lindsay softball behind," Flood said.

The lone Lindsay score came from a runner tagging up at third when Dodson's fly ball was caught in right field.

Lindsay won their first round game 6-0 against Bethel.

"The game was phenomenal as a whole," Flood said. "Coach prepared us very well. We worked our butts off every day for this game."

Dodson hit a home run over the center field fence that scored 3.

"I felt so good," Dodson said. "I was kinda in my head, but then my bat has tape on it that says 'crush it.' I look at it when I start getting in my head."

Breckynn Cline batted in 1 run, and Cheyenne Boatright batted in 2 runs.
