From vintage cars and bicycle stunt shows to marching bands and racquet sport action, Pauls Valley will have a little something for just about everybody next weekend with several popular annual events set to take place in the downtown area and at Wacker Park Saturday, Sept. 27.

The Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce will be hosting Brickfest along Santa Fe Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a variety of vendors, food trucks and activities for all ages.

The Pauls Valley Fire Department will have a dunk tank, and there will be a kid zone area with inflatables.

The Pauls Valley Police Officer’s 30th Annual Open Car Show will take place along Paul Ave. with registration from 7 to 11 a.m. The show features more than 30 different classes of cars and motorcycles. Car show awards will be announced at 2 p.m., and all proceeds go the Pauls Valley Police Department Special Fund to be used for training and equipment.

This year, Our Blood Institute will be conducting a mobile blood drive in conjunction with the car show. The Bloodmobile will be at the corner of Paul Ave. and Chickasaw Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The 9th Annual Vintage in the Valley Bicycle Stunt Show will also take place in conjunction with Brickfest. Stunt show performances will be held along Santa Fe Street at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. featuring BMX stunt riders Rich Wieber, Terrance Collins, Shawn Underwood, Brandon White, Justin Fenger, and Clayton Lovett.

The annual Pauls Valley Marching Band Championships will also take place Sept. 27 with high school bands from around the state set to compete. The parade competition will make its way through downtown Pauls Valley beginning at 10 a.m. Following the parade, the bands will assemble at Thompson Field in Wacker Park during the afternoon for the field competition.

The Pauls Valley Tennis and Racquet Association will be hosting the Wacker Tennis Classic at Wacker Park on Sept. 27. The doubles-only tennis tournament will get underway at 8 a.m. This year’s tournament will include men’s, women’s and mixed-doubles teams playing in an open division for more advanced players, an intermediate division for more recreational players and a classic division in which players will compete with vintage standard head rackets.

The tournament will also host a free hamburger lunch, with donations accepted.

Registration for the Wacker Tennis Classic is due by Sept. 25. Tournament proceeds support Pauls Valley Panther tennis teams, court renovation and improvement and community racket programs. Entry fees for the tournament’s classic division will benefit the Pauls Valley Panther Senior Scholarship Program.
