Burford Corp. to host Community Open House, Oct. 4

Burford Corp. in Maysville is celebrating National Manufacturing Month in October by inviting neighbors, families and community members to come take an inside look at their manufacturing facility during a Community Open House Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The company, which manufactures commercial bakery equipment for bakeries around the world, is known for pioneering the original twist tie machine.

The first-ever Open House will include guided tours at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., live demonstrations, food, games and inflatables and displays of Burford’s history and impact on the baking industry.

 

Yoga classes offered at Pauls Valley library

Pauls Valley’s Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow St., is offering free yoga classes for teens and adults this fall. Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic intermediate yoga class for those who have a foundation in yoga and are looking to deepen their practice. It will be offered Mondays from 6-7:15 p.m. A class for teens, Teen Calm and Focus Yoga, will also be offered Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m. Perfect for teens seeking a peaceful escape from daily stress, this class supports emotional and physical well-being and a space to have fun and connect with peers. The last class of each month for both adults and teens will focus on a specific aspect of yoga practices: Sept. 29 and Dec. 15 will be Yoga Nidra, Oct. 27 is group meditation and Nov. 25 is mindfulness practices.

 

Wiley Post Festival set for Oct. 11

Maysville’s 2025 Wiley Post Festival will be Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Music, food and vendors will be staged along Williams Street, with the parade set to start at 11 a.m. For vendor or booth space, contact Janet Dinwiddie at the Maysville Public Library, 405-867-4748 or maysvillepl@gmail.com.

 

Library Story Time, Thursdays at 10 a.m.

Children of all ages are invited to come have fun reading, singing and crafting during Story Time at the Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow St., in Pauls Valley. Story Time is at 10 a.m. each Thursday.
