Our Blood Institute invites you to follow the yellow brick road to your nearest donor center or blood drive and help change fates — one donation at a time.
This fall, all successful donors will receive a limited- edition, glow-in-thedark T-shirt inspired by “Wicked,” and the chance to help save up to three lives with just one donation.
“This campaign is a playful nod to a beloved story, but the mission behind it is serious: ensuring local patients have the blood they need, when they need it,” said Dr. John Armitage, president and CEO of Our Blood Institute.
The limited-edition shirt is only available while supplies last, through October 24.
Anyone who is healthy and 16 years old or older can give blood. Donors who are 16 must weigh at least 125 pounds and provide signed parental permission; 17-year-olds must weigh at least 125 pounds; Those 18 and over must weigh at least 110 pounds. Photo ID is required.
Donation typically takes only about an hour, and one donation saves up to three lives. Appointments to donate can be made online at obi.org or by calling 877340-8777. Walk-ins are also welcome.
