Free yoga classes resume at PV library Sept. 8
yoga classes will get underway again in September at Pauls Valley’s Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow St. Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic intermediate yoga class for those who have a foundation in yoga and are looking to deepen their practice.
It will be offered Mondays from 6-7:15 p.m. beginning Sept. 8. A class for teens, Teen Calm and Focus Yoga, will also be offered Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m. starting Sept. 10. Perfect for teens seeking a peaceful escape from daily stress, this class supports emotional and physical well-being and a space to have fun and connect with peers. The last class of each month for both adults and teens will focus on a specific aspect of yoga practices: Sept. 29 and Dec. 15 will be Yoga Nidra, Oct. 27 is group meditation and Nov. 25 is mindfulness practices.
Choral Society to perform ‘The Magic Flute’ Sept. 5 and 7
The Garvin County Choral Society will present Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” Sept. 5 and 7. The fully staged musical production features enchanting music with a delightful story for all ages. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for those under 18. Performances will be Friday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Pauls Valley High School Auditorium, and Sunday, Sept. 7, at 3 p.m. at the Purcell Old Junior High School. Library Story Time, Thursdays at 10 a.m.
Children of all ages are invited to come have fun reading, singing and crafting during Story Time at the Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow St., in Pauls Valley. Story Time is at 10 a.m. each Thursday.
Maysville Men’s Breakfast, Sept. 13
Men from age 13 to 99 are invited to attend a Men’s Breakfast September 13 at 8 a.m. at the Foundation Church Fellowship Hall, 705 Mays St., in Maysville.
The breakfast is a time to fellowship, get to know each other, build relationships and mentor each other. There is no cost for the breakfast, but love donations will be accepted. The breakfast is held the second Saturday of every month.
Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Blood Drive for Deidra Smith, Sept. 13
Mt. Carmel Baptist Church will host a blood drive Saturday, Sept. 13, from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Tommie L Johnson Fellowship Hall, 708 N. Robberson, in Wynnewood. Donations will be credited to cancer patient Deidra (DeDe) Smith.
