Only a few days into the new school year, faculty and staff at Pauls Valley Junior High were treated to snacks, cold drinks and goody bags delivered to their classroom and workspace doors Tuesday afternoon by a contingent that included a handful of PVJH students and state Rep. Tammy Townley.
“We just wanted to get the school year off to a great start, support our faculty and staff and let them know how much we appreciate what they do here,” said PVJH support staff April Brown, who helped coordinate the surprise deliveries along with PVJH English teachers Courtney Green and Shawna McLellan.
Townley had the opportunity to meet and visit briefly with each faculty and staff member as she helped make the deliveries and toured the school.
“It’s wonderful to be invited and to be able to take part in supporting the teachers and staff here,” Townley said.
Students who helped distribute the gifts and covered the event for the school newspaper included Lily Rowland, Casey Farley, Peyton Milligan, Melany Balderrama, Charleigh Danley and Levi Grounds.
