Ray L. Carlton, of Pauls Valley, passed away July 30, 2025, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years.
Ray was born July 16, 1940, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to J. C. and Opal Mae Wilson Carlton.
He is a graduate of Elmore City High School and furthered his education by earning his bachelor’s degree in business. He and Patricia L. Sells were married in Ft. Worth, Texas, February 10, 1962. He worked as a salesman. Ray was a member of Beaty Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. During his working career they lived in various places and returned and have made Pauls Valley home for the past 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. C. and Opal Mae Carlton; his wife, Pat Carlton, on March 26, 2025; and his brother, Rex Carlton.
Ray is survived by his three children, Mark R. Carlton, William Brent Carlton and Shaye Marie Carlton; and four grandchildren, Josh, Ashley, Josie and Lenny.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 4, 2025, at Beaty Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Glenn Alley. Interment is at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. We invite you to send words of comfort and concern to the family at stufflebeanfuneralhome.com.
