Pikes Peak School Museum to host Ice Cream Social, July 26
The Marian Cunningham Memorial Ice Cream Social will be held at the Pikes Peak School Museum in Erin Springs Saturday, July 26, at 6 p.m. This special community event will be an opportunity to recall the valuable memories of Marian Cunningham, who was a committed volunteer keeping the purpose and benefits of rural schools in Garvin and Grady County a public interest.
She planned many events at the Pikes Peak School to help former students recall those days. Marian spent many hours gathering photos and stories from the families who lived in the Pikes Peak Community, which she used to write the Pikes Peak History Book 19082008 that is sold by the Lindsay Community Historical Society.
The Annual Ice Cream Social at Pikes Peak was started by Marian, and we continue it in her honor. The community is welcome to come enjoy Ice Cream and Cookies as well as fellowship and shared memories. The two room school building is across from the Murray Lindsay Mansion, 13031 N. County Road 3025 in Erin Springs. Call Lindsay Community Historical Society at 405-919-6146 for more information.
