Fatality collision east of Wynnewood claims third teen

The local community is grieving the loss of three teenagers killed in a two-vehicle collision that occurred east of Wynnewood Friday, July 11.

The accident happened just before 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 29 and U.S. 177, about 10 miles east of Wynnewood, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

A 2024 Nissan Altima, driven by a 17-year-old girl from Sulphur, collided with a 2021 Nissan Titan pickup driven by a 72-year-old woman from Stratford. The driver of the pickup was not seriously injured in the collision.

The driver of the Altima was airlifted to an Oklahoma City hospital, where she was treated and later released, according to OHP.

Two passengers in the car, identified by family members as Brook Lynn Faith Dooley, 15, of Durant, and Malakye Miles, 14, of Wynnewood, were transported to Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur, where they were pronounced dead by medical personnel. A third passenger in the Altima, identified by family members as 17-yearold Andrew Watson of Wynnewood, was airlifted to an Oklahoma City hospital where he was admitted in critical condition with head and trunk internal injuries. Watson died Tuesday from injuries he sustained in the collision.

Seatbelts were in use in both vehicles, according to OHP.
