Owen Luker (center) poses with his self-portrait and his family during the “Characteristics on Canvas” art show at The Vault in downtown Pauls Valley Tuesday evening. The show featured self-portraits by students in Erica Shippey’s first grade class at Whitebead School. Each piece included a statement from the artist describing a skill, ability or personality trait that makes them uniquely them. The project was made possible by a grant from the Pauls Valley Foundation for Academic Excellence.
