Dick Gene Pharaoh was born April 5, 1936, in Sulphur, Okla., to Orban and Doris (Carpenter) Pharaoh and passed away peacefully April 12, 2025, in Duncan, Okla. at the age of 89 years.
Dick was a longtime resident of Maysville and a graduate of Maysville High School. In his younger days he enjoyed rodeoing. Dick loved horses and working cattle, that love continued on to his work as a farmer/rancher. He enjoyed that work throughout life.
On July 18, 1965, Dick married Helen Doss and the two were married for 58 years at the time of her passing in 2023. Dick enjoyed spending time with his family, and he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Dick will be missed dearly by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to: St. Jude’s Hospital Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
Dick is survived by his sons, Shannon Pharaoh and Alicia of Duncan, Okla., and Mike Pharaoh of Lindsay, Okla.; sisters, Judy Sample and Jim of Corinth, Texas, and Barbara Burditt and Glenn of Cushing, Okla.; grandchildren, Jessica Park and Skip, Caleb Pharaoh, Ashlynn Pharaoh, Noah Pharaoh, Brooke Cheely and Julian, and Blair Hill and Malachi; great-grandchildren, Adalee Pharaoh, Jewel Cheely, Julee Cheely, Jude Cheely, June Cheely, Bryn Hill and Mason Hill.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Orban and Doris Pharaoh; wife, Helen Pharaoh; brothers, Bob Pharaoh and C.C. Pharaoh; sisters, Sharon Rogers and Patsy Pharaoh Warren; and grandson, Derek Pharaoh.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2025, at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, Okla., with Bro. Joe Elam officiating. Services are under the direction of John W.
