Pauls Valley senior serves as House Page for Rep. Roe

OKLAHOMA CITY – Pauls Valley High School senior Katie Barahona recently served as a Page for Rep. Cynthia Roe, R-Lindsay, during the first week of the First Session of the 60th Legislature.

Barahona has distinguished herself academically and through her service. She is a member of both the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. Barahona plans to attend the University of Oklahoma, where she will major in political science. Additionally, she has already completed boot camp and is currently serving in the United States Army and aspires to become a commissioned officer through her studies at the University of Oklahoma.

“Katie is an exceptional young woman whose dedication to her academics, her community and her country is truly inspiring,” Roe said. “It was an honor to have her at the Capitol as a page, and I have no doubt she will accomplish great things in the future.”

Roe represents House District 42 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. She serves on several committees including being the chair of the Public Health Committee and is committed to supporting students and young leaders across the state.

The House High School Page Program is open to juniors and seniors. Pages are assigned for one week, Monday through Thursday, and they work in the House Chamber during daily session, assist representatives and House staff with tasks and take part in the House Page Mock Legislature.
