Morris “Dutch” Beavers was born January 9, 1937, to Howard Beavers and Evelyn (Galloway) Beavers in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and passed away peacefully December 17, 2024, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, at the age of 87 years. Dutch lived several places growing up. He quit school in the eighth grade so he could go to work. He worked on a ranch at a young age and learned how to mechanic. Dutch joined the Navy when he was 15 years old. Once they discovered his age, he was kicked out. He was also in the Army and Air Force. He flew supply planes while enlisted. When he got out of the service, he became a truck driver, traveling all around the United States and Canada. He would work on big trucks through this time also. Later in life Dutch quit driving trucks and became a mechanic full-time. He owned his own service truck. He would travel far to work on oil rigs, go to farms and work on tractors, or go wherever he was needed. You could call him up and tell him what noise your truck was making and he could tell you how to fix it if he wasn’t close enough to come help you.
Dutch loved to tell stories. He loved anything history, cars and trucks. He enjoyed reading and even wrote some poems. Dutch never met a stranger. He was a loving, generous man. He would do anything anyone asked of him. Dutch was a member of Maysville Assembly of God Church. He will be missed.
