Travis Michael “Mike” Bunch

Travis Michael “Mike” Bunch was born on July 12, 1948, to Travis Jake Bunch and Georgia Lee (Bennett) Bunch in Lindsay, Oklahoma, and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 26, 2024, at the age of 76 years. Mike was a longtime resident of the Lindsay area and was a graduate of Bradley High School. On November 14, 1966, Mike married Linda Rutherford and they had four children: Michael Todd, Travis Timothy, Amanda Jane, and Jamicia. Family was very important to Mike, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. Mike enjoyed traveling with Amanda to show cattle, and he enjoyed attending the grandchildren’s stock shows, sporting events and other activities. Mike considered work his hobby, and he enjoyed farming. Mike was a hard worker and provider for his family. He committed 47 years to the oilfield and retired from Weatherford in 2020. Mike was a selfless man who always did for others before himself. He never spoke ill of anyone, and he never complained. He was a servant leader who led by example. Mike was a member of First Baptist Church in Lindsay. He was saved on November 17, 1996, and was baptized on October 26, 2014. Mike will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Bunch; sons Michael Todd Bunch of Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Travis Timothy Bunch and Valerie of Lindsay, Oklahoma; daughters Amanda Jane Bunch and Tanner of Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Jamicia Knox and Morgan of Carney, Oklahoma; brother, Billy Bunch and Jeanette of Lindsay, Oklahoma; grandchildren Travis Jake Bunch, Braxton Bunch, Brooklyn Bunch, Briggs Bunch, Walker Webster, Riley Webster and Morgan Knox Jr. (who is due to deliver in October).

He is preceded by his parents, Travis Jake Bunch and Georgia Bunch. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma, with Tracy Scheer officiating. Burial at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma, under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home in Maysville, Oklahoma.
