Bobby Dean Williams was born on February 21, 1946, in Sulphur, Oklahoma, to Jewel and Jewell (Griffin) Willams. Bobby passed from this life on September 9, 2024, at 78 years old in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, surrounded by those who loved him.
Growing up Bobby enjoyed playing for the State Championship basketball team, playing baseball, and loved fishing. Mr. Williams graduated from Stratford High School in 1964 and shortly after met the love of his life Melody (Dickson) Williams in 1980. The two were married on July 31, 2004, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Bobby obtained his CDL license with a Hazmat endorsement, and then spent his career as a truck driver for various companies including Trinity Industries, Paul Moody, where he hauled gravel and frac tanks, and then eventually retiring from Garvin County as a heavy equipment operator and hauler.
Bobby loved tinkering with cars, trucks and motorcycles. He loved camping and riding his own motorcycle. He and Melody enjoyed traveling to different states, making it to Colorado, South Dakota, and Wyoming, to name a few. Anywhere there were mountains, he was sure to be there. Bobby loved giving people a hard time, his wife, mother-in-law and nurses were his favorite targets. It became something special to the family as the days drew near. Bobby loved getting coffee and talking to his friends at McDonalds and Braums on occasion, and when he was not there, he was likely spending time with his favorite person, his granddaughter Chanel. Chanel made Bobby’s heart soft and anything she wanted Bobby did, even making her a seat of her own on the tractor so she could ride with him. He will be missed by so many.
Bobby is preceded by his parents Jewel and Jewell (Griffin) Williams; mother-in-law, Lola Weatherford; son, Bobby Douglas Williams; an infant brother; sister, Carol Plumlee; and sister-in-law, Diana Kay Warren.
