A Garvin County deputy is being recognized for his swift response in coming to the rescue of a motorist who drove into an area lake last week.
Deputy Cody Lane was patrolling near the Pauls Valley City Lake around 3:30 p.m. March 19 when a Ford pickup truck drove past him. As Lane glanced in his sideview mirror, he said he saw the truck veer off the road and turn over into the lake.
