Cletis C. Quinn of Maysville, Oklahoma, was born September 6, 1927, in rural Lincoln County, Oklahoma, near Sparks, to Arley L. Quinn and Esther Ann Mason Quinn. He passed from this life on December 12, 2023.
Cletis was the seventh of eleven children. Living most of his life on a farm, he attended country schools and graduated from Prague High School in 1945. In the late 1940s, he moved to Garvin County meeting and marrying Bessie L. Jensen on April 16, 1949, at Gainesville, Texas. They were married 49 years at the time of her passing in 1999. He later married Betty Price Hildreth.
Early in his work life, he was a farmer, oilfield worker, and gas station attendant. He also worked as a janitor at Hughes School for five years. Most of his working years were spent at Roy Perkins Lumber Company in Maysville from 1962 to its closing in 1989. He later worked for Gordon White Lumber Company from 1989 to his retirement in 2000. As a child, Cletis attended the Assembly of God Church and later was a member of the Wallville Holiness Church for over 50 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending church, working on the farm, traveling, and keeping up with current events.
He is survived by children, David Quinn and Sharon of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Joel Quinn and Debbie of Pond Creek, Oklahoma and Sonya Palmer and Kirk of Moore, Oklahoma. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, Vickie James and Mark of Maysville, Oklahoma, Kevin Quinn and Amy of Pauls Valley, Michael Hines and Misty of Pauls Valley, Curtis Hines and Jimmie of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Kaci Quinn of Norman, Oklahoma, Adrienne Quinn and Dustin of Pauls Valley, and Derek Quinn of Pond Creek. He also leaves behind 23 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Cletis was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bessie; wife, Betty; and brothers, Lynville, Troy, Coy, J.B., and Cecil; and sisters, Liness Rich, Vida Murphy, Wilma Sanders, Selma Anderson, and Phyllis Everhart. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Naomi and her husband, Mike; great-granddaughter, Kennedy Wright; and granddaughter-in-law, Priscilla Hines.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 18, 2023, at the First Assembly of God in Maysville, Oklahoma. Burial at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of John W.
