Early voting begins Thursday
Early voting for April 4 general elections for municipal offices and board of education elections begins Thursday, March 30, for voters in Garvin County. Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day, have the option of voting early at their County Election Board.
Early voting is open to all voters.
“You do not need to provide an excuse to vote early. Oklahoma allows early voting for all elections conducted through the State Election Board—from school board and municipal elections to state and federal elections. This is a great option for those who will be out of town on Election Day or who want to avoid long lines,” Garvin County Election Board Secretary Gayla Dean said.
Garvin County elections set for the April 4 ballot include four Lindsay City Council positions, a position on Maysville’s Board of Trustees for an unexpired term, a Pauls Valley City Council position, Wynnewood City Council seats in Wards 2 and 3, Wynnewood City Marshal/ Police Chief-Marshal, and Board of Education positions in the Whitebead, Lindsay, Elmore City-Pernell and Wayne school districts.
Early voting is available Thursday and Friday, March 30-31, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Garvin County Election Board, 201 W. Grant, Room 8, Pauls Valley.
Dean reminds voters that early voting is not available at polling locations.
On Election Day (April 4) voters may vote at their regular polling places from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Garvin County Election Board’s normal business hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
