‘Bank on your Health’ every second Monday
The Health Department’s Mobile Wellness Unit will be visiting First United Bank, 315 West Grant Avenue, Pauls Valley, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 10 for the monthly “Bank on your Health” event.
All ages are welcome. Heatlh screening services will be offered with no out-of-pocket cost.

Coffee with the Commissioner, March 30
Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready will be at the Pauls Valley Arts and Cultural Building, 220 W. Paul Ave, in Pauls Valley, Thursday, March 30, at 2 p.m. to meet with citizens over coffee and speak on how the Oklahoma Insurance Department serves our community. The event is sponsored by the Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce. Admission is free. The Chamber does request those planning to attend RSVP to ensure there is plenty of coffee on hand. ‘Let’s Talk About It’ book discussion series April 13
The next “Let’s Talk About It” book discussion series at the Nora Sparks Warren Library is April 13 at 6 p.m. The discussion group will meet the second Thursday of each month through May at the library, 210 N. Willow. The theme of the spring 2023 series is Friendship. April’s title is “Turtle Diary” by Russell Hoban and the discussion will be led by Mark Davies. Library offers new yoga classes this spring
Pauls Valley’s Nora Sparks Warren Library is offering two free yoga classes this spring. Gentle yoga with Mylee will be offered Mondays through May 22 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Yoga Nidra, a form of guided meditation also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation,” will be offered the first Wednesday of the month – March 1, April 5 and May 3 – from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Both classes will meet in the library auditorium, 210 N. Willow St., in Pauls Valley.
Footloose Festival set for April 22
Elmore City’s annual Footloose Festival is April 22 from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Sponsored by the Elmore City Area Chamber of Commerce, the festival will feature a variety of vendors, dance contests, lawnmower races, cornhole, bouncy houses and a car and motorcycle show.

Free SAIL classes and ‘Walk with Ease’ begin March 6
Pauls Valley’s Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow, will be offering two free fitness programs for older adults beginning March 6. Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) is an evidence-based strength, balance and fitness program for adults 65 and older. Performing exercises that improve strength, balance and fitness are the single most important activity adults can do to stay active and reduce their chances of falling. Walk with Ease participants will develop an individual walking plan, learn stretching techniques and tips to improve current mobility and endurance. SAIL classes will be offered Mondays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and Walk with Ease will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m.
