Lois Edna Parks, of Maysville, Oklahoma, was born December 5, 1934, in Wayne, Oklahoma, to Isaac “Ike” Gentry and Edna (Fouch) Gentry, and passed from this life on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in Checotah, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years. Lois was a longtime resident of Maysville where she was well known as an excellent seamstress and had also worked at Kellwood Clothing Plant in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She had served as a city council member for the Town of Maysville, and was active in the Maysville Senior Citizens where she was famous for making the best homemade Italian cream cakes anyone ever tasted. She married James Donnie “Don” Parks on April 14, 1988. She loved her family and spending time with them. Lois enjoyed making flower arrangements and sewing quilts. She was a sweet lady who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Her survivors include her son, Dale McDaniel and Sandy of Lafayette, Indiana; daughters, Cathy Nobles and Chris of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and Nancy Stidham; grandchildren, Holly Gentry Engel, Melony Gentry Birt, Susan Gentry, Harold McLamb, and Angela Ayres; great-grandchildren, Cris Mattison, Brad Mattison, Kara Railey, Alexis Engel, Emily Birt, Olivia Birt, Brittaney Wood, Maverick Williams, Macy Williams, Aleah Williams, Anastasia McLamb, Jerod Garber, Jacob Garber, Tab Birt, and Devon Greene; great-great-grandchildren, Steven Railey, Nicole Railey, Axel Wood, Blake Wood, Abigail Garber, Patrick Garber, Eli Ayres, and Everleigh Greene.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, James Donnie “Don” Parks. Funeral services were held Monday, February 20, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church, Maysville, with Pastor Mike Deviney officiating.
