Lady Warriors drop Springer for the second time

Maysville’s Kelsey House was on fire Tuesday evening dropping 20 points against a scrappy Springer team. The Warriors played against Springer a couple weeks ago at the South Central Conference Tournament in Paoli and won that game by 21 points, 64-43.

The combination of Gentry Wilmot and House again proved too much for Springer to handle. House dominated under the basket snatching most of the rebounds on defense and scoring almost at will on offense. While the quick ball movement and jump shot ability of Wilmot kept Springer on the losing side of the score all game.

Maysville scored the first four points and never looked back. The Warriors managed a double digit lead in the second period and ran away with the game at that point. These girls are a tough bunch who are willing to sacrifice bodies for a loose ball and are not intimidated by anyone.

Springer’s quick ball movement and accuracy of Brown (#4) is the only thing that kept them in the game. Brown had all four points in the first period and 21 of the 32 scored in the game.

Next up Maysville will host the Oklahoma School for the Deaf Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.
