Victor Valiant Cross, of Foster, Oklahoma, was born to Oscar Iris and Thelma Prudence (Whitley) Cross on January 24, 1937, in Foster, Oklahoma, and passed from this life on November 28, 2022, in Duncan, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years. Victor grew up at Foster, Oklahoma, and attended school at Doyle. He served in the Army National Guard of Oklahoma Battery A Battalion 158th from 1958 to 1964. He worked various jobs over the years including being a school bus driver, stocking and delivery clerk, farmer/ranch hand night watchman, lawn mower, air conditioner repair and had his own cattle business. Victor and Jo Ann Pollan were married in Pernell, Oklahoma, on June 1, 1977. In his spare time, Victor enjoyed reading the Bible, gospel music, fishing, tv westerns, and watching wild birds and animals. He also found joy working with his cows, mechanical projects, and restoring an old 1966 Ford pick-up. Many were blessed by his gardening skills, as he shared his bounty with others.
Mr. Cross is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Cross of the home; brother, Richard Cross of Madill, Oklahoma; sisters, Patricia Seals of Norman, Oklahoma, Linda Tallant of Cove, Arkansas, and Marquitta Cross of Pryor, Oklahoma.
Mr. Cross was preceded in death by his parents:, Oscar and Thelma Cross; brothers, Perry, Terry, and James Cross; and sister, Joanna Thomas.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2022, at the Mt. View Full Gospel Church, Foster, Oklahoma, with Rev. Jim Duck officiating.
