Elmore City woman dies in one-vehicle collision

A one-vehicle collision took the life of an Elmore City woman Wednesday morning just north of Elmore City.

Jessie Taylor, age 77, of Elmore City, was traveling southbound around 9 a.m. on State Highway 74, when her vehicle departed the roadway to the right and overcorrected to the left, crossing State Highway 74. The vehicle then departed the roadway before striking a pipe fence.

Taylor was transported by Elmore City EMS to Valley Community Hospital in Pauls Valley where she was pronounced dead.

The cause of the collision is under investigation. Seat belts were in use and airbags deployed. The collision was investigated by Trooper Tim Brinson #284 of the Garvin/ Murray County Detachment of Troop F, with assistance by the Garvin County Sheriff's Office, Elmore City Fire Department, Elmore City Police Department, and Elmore City EMS.
