Blood donors stay on the “nice” list
Maysville High School FCCLA will be sponsoring a blood drive to be held Friday, December 2, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the high school FACS room. To schedule an appointment, contact Mrs. Murray at the high school. All donors receive their choice of a limited edition long sleeve t-shirt.
Oklahoma historian to offer unique presentation
Historian and award-winning author John J. Dwyer will be presenting Oklahoma history like you’ve never heard before, Thursday, Dec. 1, 6:30 p.m., at Crossroads Church, 32145 E. County Road 1570, Pauls Valley. Dwyer is the author of several books, including the two-volume set “The Oklahomans: The Story of Oklahoma and Its People,” and will be available for book signing after the presentation. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
Pauls Valley Angel Tree ready for adoptions
The Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow, in Pauls Valley is now offering angels from the 2022 Angel Tree for adoption. Those interested in helping to provide Christmas for area children can pick up angels at the library during normal library hours. For more information call the library at 405-238-5188.
Christmas in Maysville applications due Dec. 14
Maysville residents will need to have their Christmas in Maysville applications filled out and turned in no later than Wednesday, December 14. Applications are available and may be turned in at the Maysville Public Library, Jack’s Pharmacy or the Garvin County News Star office. Baskets will be available for pick up Friday, December 16, at the Abundant Love Church from 10 a.m. to noon. Deliveries will be made the same day, so please plan to be home. Santa’s Gift Shop in Maysville Dec. 8-9
Santa’s Gift Shop will be open again this year at the Maysville Public Library December 8-9, from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Avoid the crowds! Save time, save gas, do your Christmas shopping here. Ornaments, pillows, jewelry, handmade items, toys, and much more will be available. Some items start at $1. Santa’s Gift Shop is open to the public and everyone is welcome
Pictures with Santa Dec. 3 in Maysville
Santa will be available for pictures with your kids and pets Dec. 3 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Maysville Town Hall, 510 Main St. A $5 minimum donation is requested, and photos will be mailed out digitally. Antioch Church new hours of worship
The Antioch Church, formerly known as the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, would like to announce their hours of worship and invite the area to come meet their new pastor, Jimmy Balentine. The church holds worship on Sundays at 11 a.m. with Bible Study at 6 p.m. on Wednesday nights. Everyone is invited to come worship with the Antioch Church.

Pauls Valley Historical Society meeting, Nov. 20
The Pauls Valley Historical Society will hold its next meeting Sunday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Santa Fe Depot Museum, 204 S. Santa Fe. Everyone is invited to attend. The meeting will be about upcoming events and plans for 2023. After the meeting those wanting to help will be decorating the Depot for Christmas.
