Free yoga classes at Pauls Valley library
The Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow, in Pauls Valley is offering free yoga classes from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Mondays through November 14. The gentle yoga class is designed to benefit everyone, especially beginning yoga students. Learners will be taught to link breath and movement with poses that will create space in the body releasing stress and emotion built up throughout the day
Choral Society to present piano concert
Garvin County residents are invited to enjoy “An Evening of Inspiring Music” with renowned Christian pianist Huntley Brown Sunday, Oct. 9, at 4 p.m. at Pauls Valley’s First Presbyterian Church, 320 N. Walnut.
The concert is sponsored by the Garvin County Choral Society & Sinfonietta. Admission to the concert is by donation, with a suggestion of $20 per person. The concert is free for attendees under the age of 20. Seating is limited. Advanced tickets for the concert are available for $20 each and can be purchased Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce, 112 E. Paul Ave.
‘Let’s Talk About It’ book discussion series
The Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow, is hosting Let’s Talk About It, a book club for people who love to read and discuss great literature!
Claudia Buckmaster will lead a talk about “Where the Heart Is” by Billie Letts on Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. in the library auditorium. The event is part of a five-part discussion series in the Hope Amidst Hardship theme.

Washita River Art Show
The Washita River Art Show is scheduled for Oct. 22-23 at the Murray Lindsay Mansion Museum in Erin Springs. A first-time event, the special art show is sponsored by the Lindsay Community Historical Society.
Many artists from the Lindsay-Erin Springs Community and other towns where the Washita River flows will be displaying their talents of art for sale.

Wynnewood Boy Scout Fundraiser
The Wynnewood Masonic Lodge 40 and Wynnewood Boy Scout Troop 79 will be set up in the median in front of the Wynnewood Police Department, 117 E. Robert S. Kerr Blvd., serving pulled pork sandwiches, chips and a drink for a $7 donation Friday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds will go to help the Scout Troop with activities in the coming year.
Indoor plant class to be held at Pauls Valley library Oct. 11
Garvin County OSU Extension and the Nora Sparks Warren Library are hosting a “Hobby Greenhouses and Indoor Plants,” class Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 4:30-6 p.m. at the library, 210 N. Willow. For more information contact the library at 405-238-5188.
Master Cattleman program begins Oct. 20
Garvin County Extension is hosting a 14-week Master Cattleman program beginning Oct. 20, at 6 p.m. at Mid-America Technology Center in Wayne, Okla.
The program is designed to enhance the profitability of beef operations and the quality of life of beef cattle producers by equipping them with vital information on all aspects of beef production, business planning, risk management and marketing. The Master Cattleman program includes an educational curriculum based on the Oklahoma Beef Cattle Manual and a producer certification process.

Maysville large item pick up days are October 11 and 12
Maysville town maintenance workers will be picking up large items that cannot be put in the dumpsters on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 11 and 12. Citizens who don’t have the means to bring large items to the roll-off dumpster at the town maintenance yard may call the Town Office at 405-867-5850 and leave an address for maintenance crews to go by and pick up. Items need to be out by the curb or by the dumpsters, but not so close that the truck doesn’t have room to operate correctly.
Pauls Valley Fallfest is coming up October 29
Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy games, food, family fun and entertainment at the annual Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce Fallfest slated for Saturday, Oct. 29, from 3-6 p.m. in downtown Pauls Valley! A Halloween Costume Contest will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Depot. Be sure to bring the kids to enjoy food, prizes, face painting, balloon animals, a fun DJ and even a little magic.
Elmore City Fall Festival at the Lake planned for October 29
Elmore City’s Chamber of Commerce has announced that its Fall Festival at the Lake is set for Saturday, Oct. 29, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Area families are invited to come out to enjoy the car show, BBQ cook-off, silent auction, bounce house and mechanical bull. Games, vendors and DJ music will all be a part of the autumn breeze and falling leaves celebration!
Elmore City Treats and Tail Wags Critter Costume Contest
Elmore City’s Treats and Tail Wags Critter Costume Contest will make its return Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. in downtown Elmore City. Entry forms are now available at First State Bank. A runway will be set up for you and your pet to walk and strut your stuff. There will be prizes for first, second and third place winners. The contest is sponsored by First State Bank of Elmore City.
“Funny Girl, The Musical”
“Funny Girl, The Musical” will be presented by the Pauls Valley Arts Council Theatre Oct. 21 and 22 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. at the Pauls Valley High School Auditorium. General admission is $15 per ticket and tickets may be purchased at the PV Chamber of Commerce or the Law Office of Garvin Agee Carlton, P.C. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Area Trick or Treat Nights set
Maysville’s official Trick or Treat Night is set for Saturday, Oct. 29.
The Maysville First Methodist Church Trunk or Treat will be ready for the kids on Oct. 29 beginning at 5 p.m. in the church parking lot. Also, Walk Through the Word will be held the evening of Oct. 29 at the Maysville Assembly of God Church.
Elmore City Merchants plan to hold trick or treating in the downtown area from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31.
Elmore City Haunted Trail scheduled
The Third Annual Elmore City Haunted Trail will take place at the Elmore City Lake Oct. 20, 22, 27, 29 and 31 beginning at dusk and ending at 11 p.m. The Haunted Trail is being sponsored by the ECP Band Boosters and the entry fee is $5 per person.
