Lindsay cross country Invitational Meet hosts over 500 runners

The Lindsay cross country Invitational Meet took place Tuesday morning at the Lindsay Municipal Golf Course with several schools and over 500 student athletes participating.

Four Garvin County schools brought teams, and several Garvin County runners collected medals. The junior high girls led off the meet, running a mile and a half loop around the lake. Of the 175 girls competing, Pauls Valley Panther Landry Terry came in first place with a time of 10:26.

The junior high boys ran a modified two-mile course, with Braden Harmon from Rush Springs coming in first place with a time of 12:38.

The junior varsity and varsity girls also ran the modified two-mile loop with Chickasha’s Hannah Verhines coming in first in the junior varsity divison with a time of 17:45. Kaylee Campbell from Bridge Creek came in first place in the varsity division with a time of 14:07.

Alex Rodriguez of Bridge Creek got first place in the three-mile junior varsity boys run with a time of 21:33.

The top performer of the day in the varsity boys division was Lindsay’s own Daniel Ponce, who ran the three-mile course in 18:50.

The Pauls Valley junior high girls team placed first in their division with 71 points.

The Lindsay varsity boys team placed second in that division with 58 points.
