This year’s Stratford Peach Festival promises to deliver all the favorite Peach Festival activities regulars have come to expect – classic cars, turtle races, vendors, homemade ice cream and, of course, peaches.
The 2022 Stratford Peach Festival, hosted by the Stratford Little League Foundation, is set for Saturday, July 16.
The day’s activities will begin at 6:30 a.m. with the annual Peach Festival 5K Run. This year’s run will begin and end front of Stratford Elementary School and will be timed with race bibs. Runners can register the morning of the race for $30, but those registering on race day are not guaranteed T-shirts. Registration will be from 5:30-6:30 a.m.
A free pancake breakfast will begin at 7 a.m. at the south end of the Stratford Park, 701 S. Pine St.
Registrations for the Peach Festival Car Show will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m., at the south end of the park, near the west side of the lake. Car Show winners will be announced at 1 p.m. on the pavilion.
This year’s Cornhole Tournament will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants can register the morning of the event, beginning at 9 a.m.
The Stratford Park pavilion will feature opening ceremonies for the Peach Festival at 9 a.m., followed by local performers throughout the day. Turtle races at the pavilion will begin at 10 a.m. and the Peach Royalty Contest will take place there at noon.
The park will also be filled with a variety of activities, vendors and food trucks from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., including homemade ice cream, face painting, kid’s games, bounce houses, pony rides and a mechanical bull.
The day’s festivities will be capped off by the final night of the Stratford Round-Up Club IPRA/ACRA Championship Rodeo which begins at 8 p.m. Rodeo events will include steer wrestling, bull riding, roping, barrel races, bronc riding and mutton bustin’ for ages 6 and under. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children age 7-12. Children under 6 are admitted free.
