Warren Gene Surrell, of Maysville, Oklahoma, was born October 20, 1960, in Richmond, California, to Clarence and Darlene (Darling) Surrell and passed from this life on Thursday, June 30, 2022, in his home at the age of 61 years.
Warren grew up in various parts of the country and graduated from Arapaho High School in 1979. He moved from Shawnee to Maysville in 1984 and married Lisa Green on November 16, 1984, in Gainesville, Texas. He worked as a self-employed tax accountant for many years. Warren loved his family fiercely and was always protective of them. He was an extremely loving and caring “Dadaw,” as he was known to his family. Warren was a great conversationalist who enjoyed making people laugh and doing magic tricks for them. He LOVED MUSIC, playing guitar, and performing throughout Oklahoma with the various bands he belonged to through the years. Warren was also a talented songwriter and music publisher. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years and 7 months, Lisa, of the home; mother, Darlene Surrell of Maysville; daughter, Kayla Webster and husband, Branum, of Paoli, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Skyla Webster, Tristan Brown, and Lily Brown; brothers, Blake Surrell of Maysville and Bill Surrell and wife, Darlene, of San Angelo, Texas.
Warren was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Surrell; brother, Rhett Surrell and brother, Lloyd Surrell.
Funeral services were held held July 6, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church, Maysville, with Bro. Mike Deviney and Todd Bailey officiating. Burial followed in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, Oklahoma. Words may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com.
